Logo Paradies that speak the Truth

The logo is made up of shades of green and yellow curved parallelograms, forming a floral shape. From the center of the floral shape seeps black oil, representing the oil spill from the disaster.

There is a floral shape, which is the logo of British Petroleum. In the center there is oil coming from the logo, where the meaning is that British Petroleum didn't do their job properly, and leaked millions of litres into the ocean, causing animals in the ocean to be covered in oil and causing death, and polluting the ocean.
3. What does this logo say of BP's identity?
This logo shows that BP caused a lot of damage to the ocean, some damage was irreversible, and it took much too long to stop the oil from pouring into the ocean. BP proved that oil transporting over the ocean wasn't safe, as something disastrous like this could happen without a warning.

Blog Entry #5 Digital Actors
1. Is this acting or animation?
I think this is both acting and animation, because without the actors the facial expressions and humanly movements wouldn't be possible, and the detail would be less detail in the animation. It is also animation because the characters are created graphically, and not using the actors' faces and bodies, so that they're not fully acting, just detailed parts and movements.
2. Do you think that animated characters should be eligible for acting awards?
I do not think single animated characters would be eligible for acting awards, as they don't fully act out scenes, but the show or movie they are in could win awards, which would be shared with the actors.
3. Do you think that human actors will ever become obsolete?
It's possible, because as technology advances, they might find a way to show movement and details without human actors, or make things look like human actors but they're actually digital. It's also possible that many shows will keep using human actors, as they can do somethings that technology can't do.

Light Graffiti vs. Street Graffiti
Light Graffiti and Street Graffiti are similar in the way that the art forms that they do are not similar to paintings you would see in museums. They're usually more vibrant with color, or not very elegant, but still are powerful images. Light Graffiti is different from Street Graffiti in the fact that Light Graffiti is temporary and legal, as it disappears soon, whereas Street Graffiti is illegal in some situations because they're considered vandalizing on personal property.

Mashups and Copyright Law
What is this mashup trying to communicate? Is it technical experiment, social or political commentary, a comedic parody, or an abstract work of media art?
This mashup is a work of media art, as it is for the show Glee, which is a club in a school for singers. Glee is a widely watched show, and has millions of viewers each episode. The mashup is trying to tell you that you have to live your life to the fullest, and that you're not living for someone else, you're living for yourself, so you should do what you want and make your own decisions.
Did its creator follow or break copyright laws in its production?
I don't think the creator broke any copyright laws, because the show was aired on television, where millions of people would see. If the creator broke copyright laws, the video would be seen, and they would be sued.

I do not think this mashup requires copyright permission, because they only used parts of each song, and they did their own performance, so it was relatively different from the original songs, and if you make a lot of changes to something, it isn't the same as the original.

A Look At Music Videos
(Good To You)
Initial Reaction: My immediate reaction to this video was noticing that nothing was colored, except red. I was surprised, because music videos these days are always colored and bright and vivid, so for a music video at this year to be mainly black white and gray. I think the red was to signify blood, or jealousy, because the video is about two people loving each other, but the woman has a husband who mistreats her. The setting is a bar in a stage, and the husband realizes the relationship between his wife and the bartender. He goes into start a fight, and then tries to kill the bartender, but is held back by his friends so that he wouldn't do something he would regret for the rest of his life.
Analysis and Interpretation: There are different principles of media in this video, like contrast, because most of the video is either in black, gray, or white. There's also color because some things were colored in red to emphasize anything that was red. Red signifies many things, like blood or jealousy. It isn't really involved with Gospel Values, because there's fighting in the video, and violence with weapons.
Consideration of Cultaral Context: The song may have been inspired by someone the lead singer loved, but couldn't have her because she was married. He may have seen the idea on a television show or video or magazine, and realized that this song could relate to many people.
Expression of aesthetic Judgement: The storyline, performance, and music goes together, because the storyline is about two people who love each other, but the woman is married. The song's title is "Good To You"because the husband doesn't appreciate her, or abuses her. The performance is strong, with the husband knowing that the two people love each other, even though it's his wife. There's a fight that gets out of hand like in movie scenes, which was the performance.
Ongoing Reflection: I think the video makes the song so much better, because it adds more meaning to the song, and it gives the viewer a stronger message about his song. It's about the singer saying, if she was his girlfriend, he would be better to her than anyone else, and it shows in the video, that he was risking his life to get her.

Protection On Facebook.
Facebook is a social website where millions of people can connect to each other over the world. Some of the features are chatting online with your friends, checking their statuses, and posting what you feel. Many people don't realize this but your privacy in Facebook isn't as safe as you think it is. People put their age, location, and full name into Facebook, thinking only their friends can see. Some people accept random friend requests, which isn't safe at times. Many people can see your information. For example your birthday is one of the things you need to prove to show your identity. If someone can see your profile, and you use your real birthday, they already have one piece to steal your identity.
You can put the month and date, but change the year, so they would get it wrong in case they tried to steal your identity. Also, many people have posted statuses of where they were, this isn't a very good idea, as people can virtually know where you are, and can rob your house knowing you're not there. There are a lot of threats to people who are on Facebook, and without realizing it they risk themselves. Some people have been fired, because of information they wrongly posted about their work, like saying how they hated a certain employee, and got fired for their comment.
Facebook is a great way to connect with others, but sometimes you should be more careful of what you put on, and what you allow other people to see. Adjust your privacy settings so that only friends that you have added can see what you have written, and make sure you know them before accepting them to your friends list. Remember, the internet is wide open, and people can access your information and pictures, and they can post it wherever they want, so make sure you be careful when browsing the internet, using blogs and social network sites like Facebook.
